What should we wear?
Can we bring the kids? Can we leave them with you?
Will there be an earthquake or firestorm in the city that weekend?
Are you going to serve crazy California food?
How can I hire you to create my website?
If you have questions or comments about any information you've
seen on this website, or any other details about the wedding, please feel free to contact us directly.
You are also welcome to respond to any of the mailed invitation RSVP's electronically.
We've also started collecting a list of the already received questions and answers below, so be sure to
read the rest of this page.
If you'd like to send a request directly, please fill out the following form to send us a message. These requests are routed to our email accounts and we will respond or call as quickly as possible.
Nowhere. We strongly request that you do not send or bring any wedding gifts. Put your money and effort to a much better use.
If you feel that you must provide a gift, give a donation to your favorite charity in our name. If you have no favorites or aren't very charitable, both of us are strong supporters of the environment, arts, and education.
For our wedding, we've decided to focus our giving on a few charities:
Sempervirens Fund (preserving Santa Cruz Mountain Redwoods)
Note that when donating online you can specifically designate your gift to our named wedding fund.
San Francisco Symphony (music performance and education)
RAFT (Resource Area For Teachers - Bay Area Education Support)
Second Harvest (Bay Area Food Bank)
Tipping Point (Bay Area Poverty Assistance)
We have arranged a large block of rooms at Le Meridien San Francisco for the event. As part of the room contract for reduced rates, we have also been able to arrange two nights free for anyone who has to travel from outside the area for the event. The hotel provides single, double, and suite rooms.
Contact the hotel directly at (415) 296-2900 and tell them you are attending our wedding event. The block of rooms will be released back to the public on May 11th, so please make all of your reservations before that cutoff date.
If you have any problems, questions, or just want us to make reservations for you, just let us know.
Of course -- we're currently expecting at least a dozen guests under five feet tall. We are also working with the caterer to provide appropriate meal options. We will not, however, be providing clowns or balloon animals at the reception.
All of our events were scheduled to be a relaxing opportunity to experience more of the area while you're here. We felt with the large number of people traveling, it would be a shame to spend a weekend doing nothing more than fly-sit-stand-toast-sit-eat-dance-sleep-fly.
Even if you are in town, we won't mind at all if you avoid us and play tourist on your own. Or sit in the hotel room and raid the minibar. All we ask is that if you wish to join us for any of the planned events, please let us know ahead of time so we can make appropriate reservations.
Oh, we don't even know what we're going to wear -- why are you asking us?
In all seriousness, we want to make sure everyone is comfortable in their attire choices. California is generally a more casual place -- when we go to SF Symphony concerts we'll often sit between people in suits/dresses and people wearing leather pants and tennis shoes.
The events we have planned for Thursday and Friday are mostly outdoors, so attire should be casual and layered to compensate for the changing weather. Dinners in the city are often dress casual.
If we can leave you with one important clothing tip, remember the word 'layers' when planning your trip to San Francisco.
We in no way intend the event to be overly formal. Whatever you feel comfortable wearing will be perfectly fine -- we're expecting a range of attire from dress casual to black-tie formal. As long as you're comfortable, we're comfortable.
We have hired a jazz swing band for the reception, so make extra sure your shoes are comfortable!!
Although we've tried to include everything on the website, we're sure we've missed some important items.
Please do contact us with your questions or comments.
